A beautiful glass cabinet ideal for glasses and bottles. Although, it would look lovely with towels and perfumes as much as gin and vodka. This really is an eye-catching piece of furniture. Made of yew wood this two-door cabinet has two fixed glass shelves and comes with a working lock and the original key. The internal glass panels are finished with a polyester rope around each panel which was also painted.
It has been professionally upcycled by stripping everything down and then thoroughly cleaning before sanding began. After sanding it was then cleaned again to ensure a clean surface to be painted.
It has been painted with three coats of General Finishes Queenstown grey milk paint (acrylic), a dark grey. To protect the cabinet is was then finished with two coats of Polyvine varnish, which gives a subtle sheen.
The grey paint complements the paper on the back panel perfectly which is an exotic botanical design. Amazon jungle and wildlife paper is very impactful and certainly a conversation piece in any room.
All the hardware was removed and cleaned to bring the original colour back.
This is a genuine vintage piece of furniture and has had a previous life and a story to tell. Therefore it may have minor imperfections relative to its age and wear and tear over the years. This will not affect its function or detract from its beauty.
